Why would you want to work with a health coach!?

Per this article in WSJ from September 2016 (http://www.wsj.com/articles/trying-to-break-unhealthy-habits-theres-a-coach-for-that-1474855261):

⭐️ '“Changing health behaviors is challenging,” but wellness coaching “can help patients identify manageable ways to improve them,” says Russell S. Phillips, director of the Center for Primary Care at Harvard Medical School.'

⭐️ "A Mayo Clinic study of 100 participants who worked with a wellness coach found that a majority had lost weight, improved nutritional habits and increased their physical activity by the end of the 12-week program. While there was some slippage in healthy behaviors at a three-month follow-up, the participants were still in better shape than before the coaching started, the study found."

Today I was talking to my sister-in-law about the crazy differences of how people age. What we were speaking about specifically is how one person can be an amazingly energetic, youthful and sharp 70-something while another will seem as if their body and mind are worn out, sick and tired. We all know people in both these categories and the first are the ones that give me so much hope for the future. 

I had my first child in my mid-30s and it totally shifted my motivation to stay healthy. I used to strive for good health for vanity reasons - stay slender, strong and [hopefully] youthful. Now, however, I want to live a long and healthy life to see what amazing things my daughters do with their lives. I have slowly been course-correcting some health and lifestyle challenges from the last few years such as lack of movement, weight gain and high stress levels, which has already been paying off in spades with improved wellness and energy.

I love simple and easy things we can do to boost overall health. One of them is to drink lemon water.

What do you get when you drink a bit of lemon juice in water?

- a boost of Vitamin C;

- inflammation reduction;

- help in digestion and detoxification;

- stimulates the enzyme function of the liver;

- clearer skin; and

- may help in weight loss.

The best time to drink lemon water is first thing in the morning. Squeeze the lemon into a cup of warm water and enjoy first thing in the morning. You will start to feel a difference right away, especially if you miss a day.
