This "pate" is an amazing plant-based alternative to the real pate or other unhealthy dips or spreads. It is hearty, satisfying, delicious and filling. It's also full of good stuff like omega-3s, they promote anti-inflammation, heart and brain healthy properties, etc. etc. They also will help fill you up AND satisfy you.
The recipe calls for liquid aminos but if you can't find that or don't have it, no sweat - just use tamari sauce (or even plain sea salt).
1. 2 cups raw walnuts
2. 1/2 cup sun dried tomatoes (if dry, pre-soak for 15 minutes in hot water)
3. 1/4 cup olive oil
4. 1 tsp Liquid Aminos (or tamari sauce or sea salt, to taste)
5. 1 tsp onion powder
6. 1 tsp garlic powder
7. 2 TB basil
8. 1/2 tsp cumin
9. 1/4 cup water
Measure and assemble all ingredients in the food processor.
Pulse until well-combined to your preferred texture. (I like mine a bit rougher than hummus texture.)
Enjoy with crackers, raw veg, as a sandwich spread or as a filling in lettuce leaves (or kale/chard leaves).
